Guerilla Marketing Tip #12

Guerrilla Marketing

This month Jay Conrad Levinson cuts straight to the bone with his tip on human relations:

  • The six most important words in business: "I admit that I was wrong."
  • The five most important words in business: "You did a great job."
  • The four most important words in business: "What do you think?"
  • The three most important words in business: "Could you please..."
  • The two most important words in business: "Thank you."
  • The one most important word in business: "We."

Two Ears & One Mouth

Two ears

We have another 4 tips for you this month:

  1. Ask for details
If the person you are speaking with talks too quickly, uses unfamiliar terms or seems too technical, then ask for explanations.  Then repeat it back to them in your owns words to ensure you are both in agreement before moving forward.
  2. Listen for subtleties
Many listeners think they have heard it all before.  But fine tune yourself to look for fine differences as very few stories, conversations or negotiations are the same.
  3. Take Notes
To help you remember the facts and get perfect understanding, jot down some points as they speak.  This will show you truly care about their issue.
  4. Be Patient
Some people use lots of words to get across a message.  Some may even be nervous, but you must remain patient as you let them speak.  So keep focused and do not fidget, tap your foot, play with a pen.
