Employment Challenges

This month we received a feedback form saying: “Surely it can’t be that hard to find female personal trainers!”  The answer is “YES!”

Firstly, our commitment to our members and our Team is to only employ quality people.  We want to provide you the best people available, so we don’t settle for second best.  We have a tough interview process to ensure we get great people and they also respect the job owing to the challenges they faced to get the job.

And for nearly 8 months we have been searching for quality personal trainers.  We would love to hire a female personal trainer but simply have not had any apply.  In fact last month, we were about to offer the position to 2 ladies, but one stayed with her old employer and the other didn’t show up for her final interview.

So we are as frustrated as you!  Nevertheless, we continue to advertise and interview!  But if you know anyone who would be interested in changing careers or joining our Team, the current positions vacant at the club are:

  • Personal Trainers
  • Gym floor instructors
  • Massage therapist
  • Full time front desk leader

Member Update

This month you can expect Toni to grab you on your visit to the Club.  We want to check that we have all your current information – phone, email and address.  We are also going to take a quick picture for our records.

All pain free but it will help us communicate better with you!

Member of the Month - Mario

MarioThis month’s Member of the Month is Mario Giuliani.

Mario was the winner because he is always polite and happy and comes in  - sometimes even twice a day!  He did really well in the Active Olympics and has reached many of his personal goals. He is very dedicated and is a pleasure to be around.

Congratulations Mario.

DuncanThis about Duncan:
I am a proud kiwi! But moved permanently to Sydney after meeting my Aussie fiancé while travelling overseas in Europe.

I have always been interested in health & fitness but my career began in 2000.

I was attracted to Active Health Club for two reasons – firstly, it provides the opportunity to grow and develop further; and secondly, the culture is something that is hard to find in other clubs.

The people at Active are great!  I work with a great bunch of Team mates and the members make it enjoyable to come to work each day!

If we haven’t yet met be sure to come over and say hi … I’d love to meet you!
